this is the last of the three works in the Ironic Pentameter exhibition ,the original watercolor is 42"x 60"

malathion is a poison that is used by home owners,on their lawns, as a child growing pup we would fill tanks of it mixing it with water spraying it on the lawn, this exhibition was at the sandra gering gallery the Astroturf is part of the exhibition on house is streched canvas and the other two are painted wood with canvas windows

After my brother pasted away,I found that I had no interest in making art/working…as a cathartic experience ,I wrote stories about my life with him and drew pictures making these into cereal boxes, objects you could hold, made it possible for me to work thru this after making the cereal boxes ,the images were made into paintings.

this paintings was from my first exhibition in Chelsea,it is made up of to canvases and has a plum bob running thru the canvas, the left side children are pretending to be indians and on the right side is a sioux warrior grave ,his horsess carrying him into the after life, along with his possesssions

in this series of works the mind is directly connected to the chalk, drawing from the mind of the artist ,we see the child representing all artists drawing a line thru the stars in the other canvass she is starting to draw on a blank canvas or on the parts of the human mind.

IN this conceptual imagery we see a adolescent girl walking with the weight of the world on her shoulders,as a girl her own age walks carrying water with real weight on her shoulders

inspired from a work made by Grant Wood this trip tic shows a suburban vision of the idea, the work on the left is the santa Anta winds which have created fires before there were homes in California, the middle canvas represents time, and the last one is planting trees in a suburban lawn completing the cycle

in this work we see the child printing to be on a mission and an adult dancing or arching possibly being hit by a bullet or by some wave of emotion ,the two exist with in each person ,the imagined and the real

in thiese works from the exhibition ,Arested image ,the children all pretend to be historic characters,or "culture heroes" I made this exhibition before I had heard of that idea , but the child on the left is fighting the Medusa on the right in moral combat ,that takes place on every lawn in the world

Messingtea is the Forrest god ,who proves food and takes food ,in this is a memory form my youth of my grandfather taking us fishing ,the petroglyphs floating over the painting are meant as a key to what has happened ,petroglyphs were a type of newspaper about what had happened in the direction you were heading, they were carved at trial heads, so that you could see there was a new chief ,a comet had come or the village had had famine before you were in the middle of it.

IN this work the children are dressed for Holloween and the indian gods come out during the harvest ,the same time as our day between years the painting has a door handle iike you can open it,

this canvas has a window over it ,it shows the child being taught to ride a bicycle and then rifding it by himself

The Santa Ana winds blow every year and i the chaparral no one paid any attention to the hill side burning,it was only when people built houses in this area that it became a tragedy ,people struggle to save their suburban houses, throwing garden hoses on the roof digging a border around the yard, the fires come and create a new palette for growth
